
This photo was taken on the block I called home until 10 months ago. That car belongs to my old handyman's mom.
The city of St. Louis was hit by a terrible storm last night, cutting off power to a half million people, many of whom were pretty marginal to begin with. St. Louis City has a very high poverty rate, and many of its poorest citizens are elderly. Compounding matters is today's forecast. High temperature of 102 F...actual, 118 F ...heat index. The real story could be the massive heat related deaths today.
